Joomla! has now this possibility thanks to my component com_securityimages. It will protect You against most spammers attempt... It is providing 5 famillies of highly configurable captchas. This component is a framework and is currently used by many others components: akobook, akocomment, Joomla! contact, login and registration, simpleboard forum,
virtuemart (since version 4.1.3 and Soeren new version)

Patches for protecting:
* Contact
* Login, register, lost password, lost user account
* Akobook
